Virtuoso Licensing support for multiple machines

While the product may be installed on multiple machines at the same time, per the Virtuosity terms and conditions, the named user may not share their license with any other user.  This means that the Virtuoso license may be used on an unlimited number of machines, but the license should only be used by that named user on one machine at a time.

Starting in January 2025, this condition of use will be enforced for the signed-in user.  If the named user attempts to start the same license on a second machine, they will be denied usage.  If the named user stops the license use on the first machine, they will be able to re-start the license on the second machine and continue with their work.

The behavior that the end user experiences if they attempt to use their Virtuoso license on a second machine will depend on the version of CONNECTION Client that is installed.  Updates were made in the 23.00.01.25 version of CONNECTION Client to provide the Virtuoso user with more information about why the usage is being denied and which machine is actively running the product.

Note: It is recommended that users with Virtuoso licenses update their CONNECTION Client to version 23.00.01.25 or higher to get the advantage of the improved user experience.

In CONNECTION Client 23.00.01.25 or greater, the message the user will receive looks like this:

Capped Virtuoso Message - New CC

For CONNECTION Client versions older than 23.00.01.25, the user will receive a generic License Limit message:
