SPIDAcalc provides all users with access to six default reports that output formatted project information ranging from the most comprehensive to more narrowly focused. A custom report option is also available for users to select specific report sections and project parts as needed. Lastly, client reports can be created in the Client Editor. A client report contains predetermined report fields that can be made available to users via the client file.
ACCESSING REPORTS
Reporting options are displayed in an expanded list under the Tools menu. When Reports is selected, the following reports will appear:
- Project Summary Report
- Project Details Report
- Project Design Comparison Report
- Profile View Report
- Excel Report
- Wire Tension Report
- Custom Report
- Client Reports
REPORTING OPTIONS
The first three reporting options in the expanded menu are configured with specific report sections by default. Users can change the default settings by enabling or disabling any of the report section checkboxes. The Project Summary Report, Project Details Report, Project Design Comparison Report, Profile View Report, and Custom Report all generate in HTML or PDF format and can be saved to a specific folder. The Excel Report and Wire Tension Report generate and save as a .xlsx file.
Users can also select the project parts they wish to appear in any SPIDAcalc reports. When the Project Parts tab is selected, all leads, locations, and designs within the project are selected by default. To remove a lead, location, or design from a report output, uncheck the selection box.
REPORT OUTPUT
Below is a summary of the Report Sections included in the report selections.
- Project Summary Report: Only the Project Analysis Summary checkbox is selected by default. This report will display Project Properties as defined in the Project Settings dialog box in SPIDAcalc, as well as a Project Analysis Summary.
- Project Details Report: The Location Details, Design Details, Analysis Results Summary, Analysis Results Details, Structure Details, Damage Details, and Engineering Appendix checkboxes are selected by default. This report provides greater location, design, and analysis detail than the Project Summary Report.
- Project Design Comparison Report: If more than one design layer exists in a project, this report will generate a side-by-side comparison of the two design layers selected. A comparison of location photos, analysis results, top and side viewing perspectives, attachments, and more can be displayed in this report.
- Profile View Report: This report will generate a rendering of Profile View with the user’s chosen annotations, including measured or calculated values, and weather case information.
- Excel Report: This report generates a .xlsx file that consists of three tabs: Design-Pole, Design-Structure, and Analysis. The Design-Pole tab contains pole data per design including owner, species, length, class, AGL, GLC, allowable stress adjustment, effective stress adjustment, and GPS point. The Design-Structure tab provides attachment information such as attachment size, attachment height, direction, offset/lead, owner, type, and the relationship to other pole structures. The Analysis tab displays the loading analysis and maximum wind direction for each analyzed design, including loading results for all components.
- Wire Tension Report: Generating this report results in a .xlsx file that contains three tabs: Summary Results, Detailed Results, and Engineering Appendix. The Summary Results tab contains a summary of the applied weather loads per load case as well as individual conductors and their maximum sag, maximum tension, and percent of rated strength per load case. The Detailed Results tab contains all of the same information as the Summary tab, as well as tension adjustment factor (TAF); initial tension, temperature, and sag; horizontal and vertical separation; and wire length per wire. In addition, this tab includes distance to sag point, lowest point below attachment, and distance to the lowest point for each wire per applied load case. Finally, the Engineering Appendix tab contains engineering properties for each reported wire per client file settings.
The Wire Tension Report will only contain results if a load case has the "Maximum Wire Tension Check" enabled.
- Custom Report: The output of the Custom Report is determined by the user. The report sections will vary based on the user’s selections.
- Client Reports: This option will only appear if the client file in use contains reports generated within the Client Editor. Client reports can be created to output specific report fields. More information on creating a client report can be found in other User Manual sections.
REPORT LOGO
At the top of any HTML or PDF report, a custom company logo can be displayed. Logos are added to reports via the client file. Users can upload a logo in the Client Editor by selecting Options > Set Report Image.
