Clearance Analysis

When users run a clearance evaluation in SPIDAcalc, attachments in a design are checked against the clearance settings defined in the Project Settings. A clearance analysis can be administered at the design level.
DEFINING CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
The Clearance tab in Project Settings allows the user to input various clearance tolerances. Listed by default are clearances based upon NESC requirements, including:
There is also a checkbox that can be enabled to include guy wires in the clearance analysis.
RUNNING A CLEARANCE ANALYSIS
Once clearance requirements have been set by the user, a clearance analysis can be initiated by selecting the Design menu, then Clearances.
CLEARANCE ANALYSIS RESULTS
After the clearance analysis is complete, a Clearance Analysis Results dialog box appears containing the text “Pole has 0 violation(s).” or a list of violations contained in the current design.
The clearance analysis has no bearing on the load analysis; it is strictly a reporting feature in SPIDAcalc.
