How to avoid it?
This is a limitation of AutoPIPE that it cannot apply flexibility factors to tee legs which are buried / have soil points. The limitation is caused by the matrix condensation process, which requires us to introduce a virtual node on the branch and header legs to include flexibilities required by B31J. For buried tee legs, virtual soil nodes are already present, and matrix condensation cannot be applied. This limitation is mentioned in the program help:
Note, ASME B31J standard does not restrict the use of flexibilities to above ground pipes. It is a limitation of AutoPIPE.
Workaround:
Remove soil from all three legs of tee. Suggest adding nodes around the tee point on all legs a short distance away from tee (at least more than D/2 from tee intersection, where D = Header Outside diameter). Doing this will add the effect of soil springs, as well as Tee Flexibilities according to B31J:
