The Toolbar is located at the top of the user interface and provides access to commonly used features within SPIDAsilk. The Toolbar consists of the following sections (from left to right):
Open: An Open dialog box will populate, allowing the user to navigate to a .client or .wir file in a specific file folder. Select the file you wish to use and then select Open.
Client Editor: If the Client Editor module is included in a user's license, the Client Data Editor for SPIDAsilk dialog will appear. This allows users to review or modify any client file data.
Wire Report: A Wire Report dialog box will appear, allowing the user to select the desired span(s) and distance increments. Generating this report results in a .xlsx file that contains an output of sag and tension data under user-defined design scenarios. The visible columns in the Weather Case Table will be included in the report.
Stringing Report: A Stringing Tension Report dialog box will appear, allowing the user to define the desired span(s), distance, and temperature increments. This report generates a .xlsx file that contains an incremental chart based on the user-defined conditions, as well as the wire properties.
Equipment: Show the Wire Mounted Equipment Table, which allows users to add wire-mounted equipment anywhere along the span. Wire Mounted equipment must be specified in the Client Editor for this functionality to be available. Selecting the Add button will provide a combo box in which users can make an equipment selection and enter a distance along the span to model that equipment. Once equipment has been added, the Toggle Edit Mode and Remove All Components buttons can be used for modifying or deleting equipment. Users must click on a single equipment to enable the Remove Component button and delete that equipment.
Unit System: Toggle between the use of imperial and metric units.
Governing Constraint: Toggle between choosing the highest tension or highest sag when multiple constraints are defined.
Wind: Toggle between viewing wind pressure or wind speed in the Weather Case Table.
