Example problem 2: Various output report of combined footing

STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 (24.00.00.548)

 

Unit System Used: Kip-in or Kip-ft (Imperial)

 

Problem statement:

In this problem we will create various types of results on UI and in report format.

Continue with the model from the previous problem (Example problem 2_combined footing (part 4)).

 

Design results:

Summary table for all checks are available on clicking on design option of the footing from the project explorer. You can click on the show button of each check to view the summary report. This includes summary reports for Post analysis, Flexural, Punching, One-way and Bill of Quantities.

The design results are also available graphically. Refer snap below to enable the “Combined footing” tab.

Analysis Results:

Contour: Upon clicking on this button, “Base Pressure” can be viewed for selected load combination. A list of load combinations for which base pressure is calculated is available in the dropdown list.

Note: For combined footing analyzed with rigid method, only base pressure result is available.

For combined footing analyzed with finite element method, following results are available.

There is a button named “Criticals”, it shows various results available that includes maximum base pressure and loss of contact. Refer to snap below,

Post Analysis Check Results:

Critical FOS and status of check are available on this button.

Cutline:

The facility is provided to create the cutline through footing to view various force results graphically. This facility is available only for the footings analyzed with finite element method. Users can create a cutline by providing co-ordinates or graphically plot a cut line. Result of cutline is available as shown in figure below,

Design Results:

Design results include the strip forces, punching results and flexure design related results.

The reinforcement design related information can be viewed for top and bottom reinforcement along both directions. Results like area of reinforcement required, area of reinforcement provided, moment capacity, detailing and zones are available under design results.

Strip results show the forces of the strips created to design the footing. The results shown of the strips are of the same pattern of cutline. Bending moment and shear forces can be viewed for selected strip and selected load combination.

Reports:

Design calculation, summary etc. reports can be generated for selected combined footings. The reports can be saved in pdf, word and excel format. Facility is available to select the content and type of report that would be part of the report. By clicking on the arrow button (at end of text) option of generating Summary and detailed report are available. Refer below snaps to show steps followed to generate reports.

Various settings related to reports are available under the Report tab. These settings are related to page settings and printing. 

Reports can be saved or sent through email with pdf, word and excel formats. 

Drawings:

Under the drawing tab, following options are available.

Grid System: User can create a new grid system and add it to drawing.

Grid line: Grid lines allowed to be added with various options.

Section line: it is like cutline using which user can create a section line to generate a section drawing.

Create GA drawing:

To create GA drawing go to Drawing > “Create GA Drawing”.

A property page to create GA drawing will be displayed. In this property page select the parameters shown in figure below and click on “Create”.

After clicking on “Create”, GA drawing for combined footing will get generated.

Create RF Drawing:

To create GA drawing go to Drawing > “Create RF Drawing”.

A property page to create RF drawing will be displayed. In this property page select the parameters shown in figure below and click on “Create”.

After clicking on “Create”, RF drawing for combined footing will get generated.
