Download and Installation Instructions
Installation files for current and past STAAD Foundation Advanced releases can be downloaded from the Bentley Software Download page. After signing-in, the STAAD Foundation Advanced installers can be located by selecting STAAD in the Brand menu and clicking Apply or searching for STAAD Foundation in the Product Search box.
This version of STAAD Foundation Advanced can also be installed through the CONNECTION Client update service or through the Structural WorkSuite Hub.
This version of STAAD Foundation Advanced can be installed concurrently with the previous version. However, the bundled STAAD Foundation Advanced V9 installer does not have this capability and installing this version will automatically uninstall any previous versions.

New Features
STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 includes the new features discussed below.
Import Multiple STAAD.Pro Files
Multiple STAAD.Pro files can now be imported into a single STAAD Foundation Advanced File.
This new program capability allows users to design foundations supporting multiple structures, compare foundation design alternatives for a given structure, and save the engineering data in a single file.
Isolated and Combined Foundation Design (ACI 318 only)
Isolated and combined foundations can now be designed according to ACI 318-14 or ACI 318-19.
The new isolated and combined foundation objects support the following new capabilities.
- Model foundations at any angle orientation with respect to the global X and Y/Z axes.
- Analyze foundations using finite elements (flexible method) in addition to the traditional rigid body assumption.
- Tools for reviewing the soil bearing pressure and contact area for selected load combinations.
IS 456:2000 Mat Foundation Design
Mat foundations can now be designed according to IS 456:2000. Previously, mat foundations could only be designed using the implemented ACI 318 design codes.
IS 456:2000 Pedestal Design
Concrete column pedestals can now be designed according to IS 456:2000. Previously, pedestals could only be designed using the implemented ACI 318 design codes.
Automatic Calculation of Soil Overburden Loads
Soil overburden loads based on user-specified soil and water levels can now be automatically calculated by the program. Load cases representing seasonal variation of water table levels are also generated.
Permanent and Temporary Soil Surcharge Loads
Soil surcharges loads can now be specified as Permanent Surcharge or Temporary Surcharge types.
Permanent Surcharge loads are combined with other loadings using the load factor for dead loads. Temporary Surcharge loads are combined with other loadings using the load factor for live loads.
Visualization of Optimized Foundation Designs
A convergence plot has been added to help users visualize program-optimized sizes of isolated and combined foundations. The plot allows users to easily compare the stability results of various foundation sizes that were considered during the optimization process.
Technology Preview Features
This version of STAAD Foundation Advanced includes the Technology Preview Features discussed below.
These features are intended to give users early access to new program features that have not been fully tested.
Users are encouraged to evaluate these features during the Technology Preview and provide feedback to the STAAD Foundation Advanced team.
During the Technology Preview, these features may be enhanced, updated or discontinued without notice. As Technology Preview, these early features are provided to you “as-is” without the benefit of any Bentley warranty, indemnity or support obligation.
IS 456:2000 Isolated and Combined Foundation Design
Design isolated and combined foundation according to IS 456:2000. Currently, these foundations can only be designed using the implemented ACI 318 design codes.
Defect Corrections and Other Changes
STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 includes the defect corrections and other changes discussed below.
- A couple of crash issues that were identified in STAAD Foundation Advanced 2023 have been addressed in this release.
- An import issue from STAAD.Pro to STAAD Foundation Advanced 2023 has now been addressed in 2024 release.
- STAAD Foundation Advanced 2023 was unable to execute pedestal design for load combination cases numbered above 33000. This is because of an internal limit set in the program. This issue has now been addressed.
- There was an issue with reporting of link spacing for pedestals, where large link spacings were reported, when designed to ACI 318-19 imperial unit code. This issue has now been addressed.
- There has been a minor change made in handling of passive soil pressure while handling the sliding checks over STAAD Foundation Advanced 2023.
