As part of our continued efforts to streamline our product portfolios and bring more transparency around all commercial offerings, Bentley Systems has made the difficult decision to end the general availability of STAAD RCDC FE as of October 28, 2024, following our Bentley Lifecycle Policy support timeline.

Currently there are two categories of accounts who are using RCDC FE: (1) one who is using one or more perpetual licenses of RCDC FE under a SELECT contract, and (2) one who is using RCDC FE under one or more Structural WorkSuite licenses. We understand that these accounts may need to continue using this product on in-progress projects. To ensure you can continue your work, we have outlined some options below by account usage types.

SELECT RCDC FE Accounts

Accounts can continue using STAAD RCDC FE if you currently have perpetual licenses to use this software as a standalone product or as part of a mix of licenses under a SELECT contract. However, please note that on and after October 28, 2024, accounts will no longer be able to download the RCDC FE installer from the Software Downloads center or purchase additional licenses.  The following are a few additional points you should be aware of:

• If your contract ends on or after October 28, 2024, Bentley will continue supporting RCDC FE until the end of your current SELECT contract, even if that contract end date is after October 28, 2024.

 

• During your next SELECT renewal, you will be given the option of changing each of your RCDC FE licenses to a single license of STAAD Foundation Advanced. Please click here to learn more about STAAD Foundation Advanced.

 

Note that choosing to use STAAD Foundation Advanced will result in a minor change to your annual SELECT price at your next renewal. The renewal team will advise you on account-specific details during your renewal period.

 

• If you intend to continue using RCDC FE and you have no other Bentley licenses and do not intend to add other applications to your portfolio, your SELECT contract will be discontinued and you will be given node-locked licenses of RCDC FE to use as a non-SELECT user.

All Structural WorkSuite Accounts

Accounts with active licenses of Structural WorkSuite under a SELECT or Virtuoso contract and/or are using Structural WorkSuite under E365 or ELS contracts will see no change with respect to whatever was advised during the purchase of the licenses or inception of the contract. Please note that RCDC FE will remain available in the Structural WorkSuite offering until October 28, 2025, at which point RCDC FE will enter the Discontinued Support phase of our Bentley Lifecycle Policy and will be removed from the WorkSuite.

Accounts can choose to use STAAD Foundation Advanced for modeling, analysis, and foundation design (“design of foundations” is the right phrase to use). For accounts who intend to model, analyze, or design elevated slabs, they can choose to use RAM Concept application as STAAD Foundation Advanced does not have that capability at this time.

Both STAAD Foundation Advanced and RAM Concept applications are already available in the Structural WorkSuite.
