Special Project - 3D Points

Question

If I have a special project, how do we start the input?

Answer

If the user has a special project, let's say, for example, that the structure is not a bridge model and there is no alignment reference to be used, the coordinates can either be imported as a list or the user can manually start it by using 3D Points to create nodes and later a Free pier.

So, in addition to the axis definition, the RM Bridge Modeler allows for defining and managing arbitrary points in space. These points are named objects with the coordinates in space as properties with the global coordinates X, Y, Z. They can be used as tridimensional reference objects for the necessary Segments in various situations. X and Y are the coordinates in the ground plan, and Z is the elevation level. Because only one node can exist at a certain point the tolerance of 1.e-8 is applied.

The 3D point management also offers interfaces to other programs with a point database as it allows for taking over points from lists of other programs or storing such point lists. The following actions are available for points:

  • Mark and unmark points
  • Point list
  • Insert a point
  • Modify a point
  • Delete points
  • Activate a point
  • Import points
  • Export points
