Communication bundles created in the Client Editor are referred to as Client Bundles. If bundles are available in a client file, they will appear in the Components Panel > Wires tab when a communication owner is selected and the group is set to Communication Bundle. Client Bundles are organized by group(s) configured in the client file and can be expanded to show the bundle size. Like other components, a drag-and-drop method can be used to select and drag the bundle to one of the graphic views.
A client info button for communication bundles displays a 2D cross-sectional preview of the communication bundle layout and engineering properties defined in the client file.
A Create Quick Bundle button is also present, allowing users to modify the selected communication bundle and create a new Quick Bundle.
Quick Bundles are communication bundles that can be created ‘on the fly’ in a project and do not require access to the Client Editor. Quick Bundles can be created by selecting the Quick Bundle button or by selecting the New Quick Bundle button next to any existing bundle.
When a new Quick Bundle is initiated, a Create Quick Bundle dialog will appear. If bundle components exist in the client file, they will appear on the left side of the dialog. Double-click or drag one or more bundle components to add to the Quick Bundle. The right side of the dialog will update and display a 2D preview of the communication bundle layout and engineering properties as defined in the client file.
Select OK to create the Quick Bundle. The names of the Quick Bundles are generated automatically as determined by the messenger size and any bundle component abbreviations. A Quick Bundle group will appear in the Wires sub-tab and house any Quick Bundles for the duration of the project.
Quick Bundles will only be available for the SPIDAcalc project in which they are created. If Quick Bundles are saved in a project file and opened at a later date or by another user, they will remain in the project file and appear in the “Quick Bundles” group under the Wires sub-tab.
