Forms in Clash Detection are used to streamline and organize the process of identifying and resolving conflicts within a design model. They allow users to:

• Document and Track Issues: Forms help in documenting clashes, providing a structured way to record details about each conflict, including its location, severity, and potential solutions.
• Facilitate Communication: By using forms, team members can easily share information about clashes, ensuring that everyone involved in the project is aware of the issues and can collaborate on resolving them.
• Standardize Reporting: Forms ensure that all clashes are reported consistently, making it easier to review and address them systematically.
• Customized layout: Users can create custom forms tailored to specific project needs using the Bentley Forms Designer. This includes defining the form’s fields, layout, and properties.
• Controlled Workflow Approvals: Custom workflows can include approval processes, where forms need to be reviewed and approved by designated individuals or groups before moving to the next stage. This ensures that all necessary checks are completed to resolve the clash instance.

Open Project Administration

For Forms to appear in Clash Detection a Form Type of “Clash” must be present and published in the Project/iTwin.

To create or amend a Clash Form the user will need Project Admin rights and be able to access the Manage Forms page in the Administration section of the Project/iTwin interface.

 

By default, all new projects/iTwins in Infrastructure Cloud will have a basic Clash Form created by default.

 

Manage forms

To change or amend an existing Clash form it first must have its status changed from Published to Draft. This will allow the user to edit the layout and workflow of the existing Clash Form.
