Problem:

Define all of the dimensions in Flange Analysis sub-report Inputs > section - 1.4  BOLTS ?

Solution:

 Most of the values in this report are retrieved from AutoPIPE's Flange library "FlangeDimLib.mdb" and Material library "asme2010.mdb"

However, in order to address the problem above, one should also reference AutoPIPE's Flange Analysis> Flange Tab: (example image below)

Define Values 

Material : SA-193-B16-1

• • Depending on the Flange Material Library chosen, user selected from the Flange Material drop down list of available options.  

No. of Bolts : 12

• • When "AutoPIPE" component library is selected in the General Model Options dialog, refer to the Flange Analysis dialog, "Flange" tab shown above for setting of "Flange/Bolt/Gasket dimensions". Next reference the indicated standard for number of bolt holes on a given flange (ex. 8"-300# (table II-10)).

Min. Bolt Spacing : 2.0625 inch

• • Defined as the minimum distance between bolt centers along the bolt circle (table II-10 - W)
  • Notes:
    • This value is read from FlangeDimLib.mdb> BoltDesignCircle table, based upon the Nominal Bolt Diam (ex. 0.875 in)
    • This field is not used in any flange calculations and will be removed in a future version of the program.

Bolt Diameter : 0.8750 inch

• • When "AutoPIPE" component library is selected in the General Model Options dialog, refer to the Flange Analysis dialog, "Flange" tab shown above for setting of "Flange/Bolt/Gasket dimensions". Next reference ASME B16.5 for number of bolt holes on a standard 8"-300# flange.

Eff. Bolt Diameter : 0.7427 inch

Hub Radial Dist.  : 1.2500 inch

• • Defined as the radial distance from where the large hub Dia of a weldneck flange touches the body of the flange (table II-11 - X) to the centerline of the Bolt circle dia (table II-10 - W).
  • Notes:
    • This value is read from FlangeDimLib.mdb> BoltDesignCircle table, based upon the Nominal Bolt Diam (ex. 0.875 in)
    • This field is not used in any flange calculations and will be removed in a future version of the program.

Outer Edge Dist.  : 0.9375 inch

• • Defined as the radial distance from the Bolt circle dia (table II-10 - W) to the outer dia. of the flange (table II-10 - O).
  • Notes:
    • This value is read from FlangeDimLib.mdb> BoltDesignCircle table, based upon the Nominal Bolt Diam (ex. 0.875 in)
    • This field is not used in any flange calculations and will be removed in a future version of the program.

Bolt Hole Diameter : 1.0000 inch

• • When "AutoPIPE" component library is selected in the General Model Options dialog, refer to the Flange Dialog shown above, and reference ASME B16.5 for number of bolt holes on a standard 8"-300# flange.

Allowable at Oper, Sb: 20.000 ksi

• • This value is read from AutoPIPE's library asme2010.mdb> 3_Bolts table, based upon the material selection (ex. SA-193-B16-1) and temperature (ex. 400 deg F)

Allowable at Amb, Sa : 20.000 ksi 

• • This value is read from AutoPIPE's library asme2010.mdb> 3_Bolts table, based upon the material selection (ex. SA-193-B16-1) and temperature (ex. 70 deg F)
