For security reasons, Bentley regularly rotates the security certificates on all of its services. Bentley will announce on the Status Portal when security certificate rotations are planned. In most cases, when the security certificate is rotated on one of the Bentley cloud services, there's nothing for users to do. Our most recent client versions will handle the rotations smoothly with no added input from users.
To avoid any disruption after a certificate rotation, it's recommended that users stay up to date on the latest version of the clients to avoid.
For older client versions, there may some special steps necessary to continue to use products after a certificate rotation. This may be as simple as signing back in to the CONNECTION Client if you are signed out.
Other times, it may require that the License client service be restarted. This may be necessary if, for example, Bentley has rotated the security certificate for the SES Policy service and the user is still on a version of the CONNECTION Client that is older than 10.00.19.31. Users with an older version may need to stop the CONNECTION Client and Bentley License Client service (Bentley.Licensing.Common for Windows) in the Task Manager and restart them by opening up the Bentley Licensing Tool from their Start Menu.
