Announcement: Posting of usage from the deployed SELECTserver no longer supports TLS 1.0/1.1

Announcement:

Effective October 4, 2024, posting of usage logs from the deployed SELECTserver will no longer support Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1

For security reasons, Microsoft is ending support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1.

Please reference the announcement Announcement: Effective October 4, 2024, TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will no longer be supported in SES for more background of the changes surrounding Transport Layer Security.

This change will directly affect the deployed SELECTserver instances that are running on machines that still have TLS 1.0 or 1.1 active. After this date, usage posting from deployed SELECTserver sent to Bentley with TLS 1.0 or TLS 1.1 will fail. Only communication through TLS 1.2 or higher will work going forward.

Recommendation:

To keep deployed SELECTserver usage posting working, it is recommended to disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 on the machine that will be posting SELECTserver usage.  TLS 1.2 or higher should be the only enabled protocol for communication.
