Q. "Error 0x80070642" message appears on dialog or in Log file when installing AutoPIPE, why?

Problem:

AutoPIPE abruptly stops installing and displayed "0x80070643" message.

Or, log file has the following:

Error 0x80070642: Failed attempt to download URL:

Why and how to avoid it?

Solution:

There are a number of reasons why this may have happened. See steps below to try and resolve the issue.

Note: What version of Windows are being used? recall that AutoPIPE must installed on supported Platform as mentioned in the respective version's Release Notes here

Fix it solution #1: 

Step #1: Download Connection Client per instructions here (select the Download link).

Step #2: Install Connection Client. Are you able to install Connection Client and run it without issue?

If Yes, go to next step

If No, submit a Bentley case to Licensing department mentioning this wiki page. OR, call Bentley, ask to speak to the Licensing department for assistance with Connection Client.

Step #3: After successively installing Connection Client, Reboot the computer, and try to install AutoPIPE / OPIM again.

Does the same message re-appear?

If No, no further trouble shooting required. finish installing, license, and start using the application.

If Yes, send log file to Bentley for review.
