Background/Overview

The purpose of this article will be to serve as a quick reference for creating Print Styles for use with your project over a network.
Print Styles are named sets of print definition properties. In other words, you can think of Print Styles as a sort of template for creating Print Definitions.
They are especially useful when creating Print Definitions as part of a Print Set (.pset) in Print Organizer.

Basic Workflow

1. Create .dgnlib file (or use existing .dgnlib) and place in network directory defined by MS_DGNLIBLIST_PRINTING
2. Open .dgnlib file directly in MicroStation
3. File > Print > Print Styles
4. In Print Styles dialog, create New Print Style by selecting New icon
5. Name the Print Style as desired
6. Edit the settings contained in DGN/DWG Settings section. The bulk of the customizable settings will be changed in the tabs (Main, Advanced, Fence, Display, Levels, References, etc.)

Note - Be sure to use the correct Print Driver Configuration File (.pltcfg) file as well. This can be changed within the Common Settings menu.

7. Save the Print Style and close the Print Styles dialog
8. Save the .dgnlib file, then completely close/reopen MicroStation. The Print Style should now be usable by everyone on the network who is using the same configuration
