Solution:
In instances where manual calculations do not align with the values produced by the program, it is advisable to verify that the hand calculations match exactly with the correct formula as specified by AutoPIPE and that the units are consistently applied throughout the calculations. In this particular case, it was discovered that the code contained a specific note regarding the calculation of a variable known as (Alpha), which directly affects the calculation of Longitudinal K1 value. It is important to note that the value of "c" is input into the soil calculator as N/m² (see image); however, the equation for alpha necessitates that the units be expressed in KPa/100 (see image below). This was the oversight that lead to incorrect hand calculated values.
In conclusion, common reasons why program calculated values do not match hand calculations are:
