Steps to Accomplish

Use place circle tool

Change setting so fill type is opaque and the fill color is gradient

Click on Gradient to change more setting in order to select:

Type: Spherical

Color mode: 2 colors

And use invert or center depending on where you want to apply the darker or lighter color

Similar for shape creation
