How to create a video/movie animation of a camera following a defined path
Background
Generate a short simple animation moving through a file, where the camera just follows the path and points in the direction of that path
Steps to Accomplish
- Create a path for the camera to follow (this can be set as a Construction element so it can be turned off in the view later)
- Select 'Create Animation Camera' and place at start of path (increase the value in the Cell Scale field to see the camera being placed)
- Define camera target or direction (for example, align it with path in this case)
- Enter a name for the camera to complete the command
- Choose Define Actor Path tool, choose the camera as the actor and then select the path and the direction
- Now select the Script Camera tool and choose the Camera just created and accept the options in the Script Camera dialog
- Use the Animation Preview Tool to review the path taken by camera
