Problem

Dimension extension line with fixed length
How to obtain dimensions with extension lines that have a fixed length starting from the dimension line, not from the dimension origin points?

Solution

Enter negative offset for extension lines

In the dimension style windows, click the geometry tab and in the Extension Lines section, set the value for the Offset to a negative value.
The extension line offset will than start from the dimension line in the direction of the dimension origin.
Note that that offset value is related to the height of the dimension text.
Applies to all MicroStation versions.
