How to create a custom Property Type

A property type is a collection of properties, which can be used by any item type in the same library.

 

Steps to Accomplish

• Load the Item Type dialog by keying in “dialog itemtype”

• Click on the “New Property Type” icon  and create a new property “Address”

• Select the newly created property type “Address” and click on the “New Property Definition” icon  to create the required properties (Street, City, State, and Zip).

• Click the “Save”  button to save the item type settings to the design file.

• Check the Property Type list box, which should display the new created property definition “Address”.
