How to Import a Schedule in nPulse?
Once a new project is created in nPulse, the admin can proceed to import the schedule. The Projects Module in nPulse supports both Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera, allowing for seamless schedule management. This functionality ensures that project schedules can be easily imported, updated, and maintained within nPulse. Below are the detailed steps to import schedules from Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera into nPulse:
- Select the project from the drop-down menu in the Projects Module.
- Click "Archive & Update" at the top right corner (second button).
Importing Microsoft Project Schedule
- Select the Microsoft Project checkbox under Update Schedule.
- The file type will be automatically set to XML, as nPulse only supports importing schedules in this format.
- Choose the Baseline in the Select Baseline drop-down. nPulse supports up to Baseline10 during selection, but only one baseline can be maintained and displayed at a time.
- Ensure all checkboxes under keep existing's schedule are unselected for the first schedule upload.
- Click "Choose a file to upload" and select the schedule file (in XML format).
- Click "Save" to upload the schedule. The upload time may vary depending on the schedule size.

Importing Primavera P6 Schedule
- Select the Oracle Primavera checkbox under Update Schedule.
- The file type will be automatically set to XML, as nPulse only supports importing schedules in this format.
- Enable the "Map using P6 IDs" checkbox. The P6 IDs will be used as task codes in nPulse.
- Select the "Update Baseline Dates" checkbox to ensure that the baseline dates maintained in P6 are considered as baseline dates in nPulse. The start and finish dates from P6 schedule will be taken as planned dates.
- Click "Choose a file to upload" and select the schedule file (in XML format).
- Click "Save" to upload the schedule. The upload time may vary depending on the schedule size.

The schedule is now uploaded for the newly created project, and the schedule tab will display the project schedule along with its details and structure as created in Microsoft Project.
Important Points
- We recommend using a baseline schedule without any actual progress for schedule upload; progress can be captured in nPulse after schedule upload.
- All tasks/WBS must have baseline and planned dates.
- Maintain a project calendar, not a global calendar, for the schedule to be imported into nPulse.
- Ensure there are no inactive tasks in the schedule.
- Each activity, with the exception of the first activity and the last activity in the schedule, should have at least one predecessor and successor.
