There are some small sized texts in the drawing model which do not get properly printed. How can I improve the quality of the printed PDF?
Solution:
There are few things that can be done to improve the image quality of the print.
1. For printing a drawing or a sheet model to PDF, go to File > Print > Print to PDF.
2. Tick the Rasterized check box while printing to PDF. This will print the PDF as a raster image where the quality of the detailing in the image can be improved by changing the size of the raster tile.
3. Then go to Settings and click on Raster Options.
4. Then change the Quality Factor to 100. This will print at the highest DPI possible for the printer.
5. Then go to File > Settings > Configuration > Configuration Variables.
6. Then search for the following two configuration variables:
MS_PLT_RASTERIZED_MAX_TILE_WIDTH and MS_PLT_RASTERIZED_MAX_TILE_HEIGHT
You can set the size of the raster tiles by changing the values of these configuration variables. The default value is 2048 which can be changed. A maximum value of 8192 can be assigned to both the variables which will cause maximum size of the raster tile. But this is to be noted that the larger the size of the raster tile, the lower the quality of the image. Greater size of a raster tile means lesser file size as well as lesser time required to generate the print. For a more detailed image of higher quality, a lower value of tile size can be chosen appropriately.
