The following appears in Event Viewer after AutoPIPE crashes:
Faulting application name: autopipe.exe
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll
Exception code: 0xc0000409
Also AutoPIPE log file has the following last line:
<error> FrameNodes Read: Invalid id
Why and how to avoid it?
In this one reported case there was a corrupted valve at a node point. The valve's mid point is supposed to be a valve midpoint name, and while the preceding point SHOULD be a valve near point, it's actually the first point of a segment.
This model had to be updated by the development team using specialized tools only available to the development team. The model was saved to an AutoPIPE APC file and sent to the user.
If you encounter a similar situation, best to log an Bentley Service Request, and send your AutoPIPE APC file for review. Otherwise, zip the model folder and send ZIP file for review.
Be sure to add as much information on what was the last set of commands to be performed or any history on the model. Note, if the development team cannot repeat the problem in a new model, then they have nothing to fix. The problem may keep reoccurring until a set of steps to repeat are uncovered.
