W2164-155: B31 App J - The ratio T1/T2 is smaller than or equal to 1.00 for the reducer(s) below:
Why and How to avoid it?
This warning refers to a ratio requirement by ASME B31J to perform an SIF calculation.
Open the Reducer dialog and press the Help button in the bottom Right corner, scroll to the bottom of the Reducer help page, and select the hyperlink for B31J Reducer. Here one can read about ASME B31J requirements for a reducer. There are a number of ratios and values that must be within a certain range (ex. e. 1 < T1/T2 < 2.12). As mentioned in the help, the flexibility and stress intensification factors apply only if ALL the required conditions are satisfied. If one or more is not satisfied, the SIF will be calculated to the max value of 2.0, see AutoPIPE model input listing for Reducers SIF calculated values.
Avoidance:
Open the reducer dialog, update values as necessary so that all conditions are met to calculate an SIF value.
