Answer:
Use the following steps to set/change your computer's Regional settings. This maybe required to confirm that certain settings may be affecting AutoPIPE usage. In order to restore settings to their original values take screen shots as need before making any changes.
1. Close All AutoPIPE programs
2. Since the Region format instructions change with each version of Windows (ex. old procedure), best to perform an internet search for instruction on How to change computer Region settings on xxx Operating System.?
However please be aware of the following notes:
a. For testing purpose suggest to change all region settings to United Kingdom (English) or US (English), Test to see if AutoPIPE is not behaving correctly
If Yes, the issue is directly related to one or more regional settings when using Country or Region is set to other than English. Try setting Country or region to your area, however match as many regional format values to that when English is specified.
Example:
Country or Region = Germany
Regional Format = Same values used when Country Region = English for all settings under Number, Currency, Time, and Date.
Note, to really narrow the issue down, use an iterative approach, change a few settings and then try to using AutoPIPE. If the problem remains, continue changing a few more settings and try using AutoPIPE again. Continue process until the program runs correctly.
If No, the issue may still be related to regional settings, please log a technical case with Bentley. Mention this Knowledge Base article. Provide details on what steps have already been taken and ask for a live meeting to help resolve this issue.
b. Most importantly Decimal symbol and Number format uses a " . " (period).
It is really difficult to know if using "." or using "," therefore, suggest to use Window's Magnifier command to confirm setting.
To quickly turn ON Magnifier, press the Windows logo key + Plus sign (+) .
To turn OFF Magnifier, press the Windows logo key + Esc .
3. To be safe best to restart the computer to make sure that these region settings are updated throughout the computer.
4. After rebooting try to install / restart AutoPIPE and confirm if region changes make any difference with installing / using the program.
If No, change all settings back to their original values.
If Yes, please file a Bentley Service Request, noting what version of AutoPIPE you are currently using (8 digit number), send screen shots of your original settings, and clearly explain what behavior changed in AutoPIPE because of using the settings above.
