How to construct a Solid from multiple 2D Profiles
Background
Having been provided a 3D model containing multiple 2D section profiles of various sizes, how is it possible to generate a 3D solid.

Steps to Accomplish
Option 1
- Select the surface “Loft” tool (Modelling > Surfaces > Create Surfaces > Loft)
- In the Tool Settings dialog, select “Loft By Section” and “Force Start Point at Selection Point”
- Select the first 2D profile
- Select the second 2D profile, at the same location (Note and arrow will appear allowing for adjustment of position and direction)
- Select the third 2D profile in the sequence, at the same location (Note and arrow will appear allowing for adjustment of position and direction)
- Continue until all profiles are selected and place a Data point in the View away from the model to complete

- Select the “Convert to Solid” tool (Modelling > Solids > Solid Utilities > Convert To Solid)
- Adjust the Tool Settings’ to define the type of Solid required and select the Surface
Option 2 Technology Preview introduced in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 17
- Select the surface “Loft Solid” tool (Modelling > Solids > Create Solids > Loft)
- Select the first 2D profile
- Select the second 2D profile, at the same location (Note and arrow will appear allowing for adjustment of position and direction)
- Select the third 2D profile in the sequence, at the same location (Note and arrow will appear allowing for adjustment of position and direction)
