What's New or has changed in Connect Edition v9.7.4

 

This page describes new, modified, enhanced and deprecated features of STAAD Foundation Advanced since CONNECT Edition V9 Update 7 Patch 3 (Release 9.7.3.18).

 

The purpose of this release is to provide our users with a version that contains some minor enhancements, changes and corrections for errors found in past versions. New features as well as significant upgrades to existing features are being delivered through the next generation of this program which goes by the name STAAD Foundation Advanced 2023. 

 

Deprecated features

 

The ISM capabilities within the program, namely - "Update Repository", "Create Repository", "New from Repository" and "Update from Repository" has been discontinued from this release. 

 

Defects Rectified

 

For combined footings with ribbed beams designed to the Indian code (IS456), some of the values pertaining to the concrete design were calculated and/or reported incorrectly. Those terms are:

1. the shear force in the footing for the transverse direction
2. the bending moment in the footing for the transverse direction, and consequently, reinforcement for the top and bottom surfaces of the footing along the transverse direction.
3. sagging moment in the beam for the longitudinal direction.

 

In cases where the footing is designed using the "Calculate Dimension" method of design, the thickness required for the footing and depth required for the beam may be underestimated due to the above. These have been addressed in SFA V9.7.4.
