Beginning 1 July, 2024, Bentley has consolidated the OpenFlows desktop applications into the following new product titles and license levels, as detailed in Table 1:
The previous applications continue to exist; however, they are now licensed under the new product names.
Table 1. New OpenFlows products and license levels with included applications and capabilities.
1Application included with New Product except as specified "Not included" under "New Product License Level/Capabilities"
2AutoCAD platform integration is now included for all license levels of this application.
All users on active contracts for OpenFlows desktop products are impacted by this change. These changes will apply regardless of whether you upgrade to the 24.00.01.05 and higher releases of OpenFlows products or continue to use older releases. Depending on your contract, the benefits and timing of consolidation will vary. See Simplifications to Bentley's Water Software Licenses for more details on handling of specific commercial programs and renewals during this transition.
To correspond with our newly consolidated product offerings, beginning with the 24.00.01.XX releases in July 2024, OpenFlows uses a single installation package for most related applications. For example, a single "OpenFlows Water" installation package installs WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and/or HAMMER. (Only PondPack, CulvertMaster and FlowMaster will still have individual installation packages.)
The applications included within each installation package are shown in Table 2. Note that the new installation packages should be used to install the latest version for any listed application, regardless of whether you have already renewed under the new product offering.
Note: for important information on silent installations / deployments, please see: Silent installation for Bentley OpenFlows Products

When you launch a consolidated installation package, you will be prompted to select the product license level, as shown in the example below for OpenFlows Water. This selection is to help prevent unintentional installation of applications not provided at your license level.
If you are unsure which license level to choose (for instance, if you have not yet renewed your subscription under the new product offerings), select any option and click Next to proceed. You can then customize installation by clicking individual applications to choose whether each will be installed. For example, if you use WaterGEMS only, configure the installation as shown below.
You can use both new (version 24.00.01.XX) and previous application versions under OpenFlows product consolidation—the application version will not impact the way usage is now counted. As of 1 July, 2024, usage is rolled up under the new product name/license level. For example, use of WaterCAD Stand Alone 1000 pipes (feature string: Standalone, MicroStation, 1000 pipes) is counted as OpenFlows Water Standard.
The Feature Level Selector tool (shown below for SewerGEMS) continues to be used by all releases of OpenFlows applications to set the desired feature level. Before using an application, it may be necessary to launch its Feature Level Selector tool (available from Windows menu) and ensure that you have a newly available feature level selected.
The mapping of previous product feature levels to new product license levels is provided in the tables that follow. Use the links below to go directly to specific product information:
OpenFlows Water (WaterGEMS, WaterCAD and/or HAMMER)
OpenFlows Sewer (SewerGEMS and/or SewerCAD)
OpenFlows Storm (StormCAD, CivilStorm and/or PondPack)
Previously, the following individual product licenses, at a range of feature levels, have been offered for pressurized water system ("Water") modeling:
As of 1 July, 2024, the previous products and feature levels have been consolidated into new product names and license levels, as shown in Table 3. Note that the prior individual applications have not been discontinued, but now are all sold together under the "OpenFlows Water" product designation. All OpenFlows Water applications are provided as a single installation package for 24.00.01.05 and subsequent releases. Individual application releases (e.g., WaterCAD) from 2023 and earlier can still be used but will now be logged as OpenFlows Water usage.

* HAMMER will now be limited to 1,000 pipes with a "Standard" license, and to 5,000 pipes with an "Advanced" license. (Previously, all HAMMER licenses were unlimited pipes.)
Previously, the following individual product licenses, at a range of feature levels, have been offered for wastewater collection system ("Sewer") modeling (note SewerGEMS also provides comprehensive stormwater modeling):
As of 1 July, 2024, the previous products and feature levels have been consolidated into new product names and license levels, as shown in Table 4. Note that the prior individual applications have not been discontinued, but now are sold under the "OpenFlows Sewer" product designation. All OpenFlows Sewer applications are provided as a single installation package for 24.00.01.05 and subsequent releases. Individual application releases (e.g., SewerCAD Stand-Alone) from 2023 and earlier can still be used but will now be counted as OpenFlows Sewer usage.
