PLAXIS 2D 2026.1.0 (26.1.0.211) contains the following improvements and updates compared to PLAXIS 2D 2025.1:

New features

Cloud Interoperability: PLAXIS & GeoStudio - Tech Preview
Seequent Evo enables cloud-based interoperability between PLAXIS and GeoStudio, allowing teams to share 2D geometry with material name and colours. By reducing manual data recreation and improving consistency across geotechnical models, engineers can streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and work more efficiently within a connected digital ecosystem.

This feature is released as a 'Tech Preview' under our Product Terms and requires access to Seequent Evo.

Cloud Interoperability: PLAXIS 2D & Leapfrog - Tech Preview
PLAXIS 2D and Leapfrog are now connected through Seequent Evo, enabling cross sections to be shared seamlessly between applications. This cloud-based workflow reduces manual data transfer, improves consistency between geological and geotechnical models, and helps teams collaborate more effectively using a common source of truth.

This feature is released as a 'Tech Preview' under our Product Terms and requires access to Seequent Evo.

Other changes and improvements

SOLVED Known issue: "Elastoplastic" and "Elastoplastic (M-kappa)" material types for structural elements are again correctly considered in the analysis. [more info]
SOLVED Known issue: When using multiple User Defined Soil Models in one phase it again possible to inspect the contour plots of any state parameters. [more info]
The Help menu has been restructured and has new options pointing users to useful information like verifications and learning content like Learning Path, practical cases etc.

Compatibility note: To ensure there is no data loss in the original project and properly converting modified project properties, when opening older projects, they will be converted and saved with a _converted suffix. Specifically when opening projects older than the 2025.1 version, due to major changes in the calculation input and results database, the projects require remeshing and recalculation.
Side-by-side installation with a previously released major version of PLAXIS is supported (e.g., PLAXIS 2025.1.x and PLAXIS 2024.3.x), enabling a smooth transition to the new version without impacting ongoing projects.
Be aware that earlier versions of PLAXIS will not be able to open files saved in PLAXIS 2D 2026.1.

Fixed issues

A large number of issues have been addressed, including:

[377841] You can now configure your company logo in PLAXIS using native commands or Python scripting.
[378745] The default Output plot configuration is now set to "PhaseBehaviour" to ensure consistency between on-screen visualizations and exported content.
[379554] Resolved an inconsistency where user-defined object names differed between Input and Output.
[379601] You can now configure all legend settings, such as applying a logarithmic scale, through the native command line and Python scripting.
[523891] The "move" command now supports polycurves.
[548873] Resolved an issue affecting line cross-section results when using the "updated mesh" option.
[1198693] PLAXIS will provide a message about deprecated commands in the Python response for user awareness.
[1306117] Another issue is resolved about the results of line cross sections when updated mesh is used.
[1319302] Object names specified in Input are now correctly and consistently displayed in Output.
[1385503] Improved performance when collecting results for export to ParaView.
[1429154] Fixed an issue that prevented access to UDSM state parameter values in Output via commands and Python scripting.
[1511420] Dynamic load and displacement components are now shown only for dynamics-related phases in Staged Construction.

[1946973] Fixed an issue with mesh generation on converted projects.
[1952957] Resolved an issue that prevented results from opening in Output for a converted project.
[1954208] Fixed an issue where a converted project could fail to generate a mesh.
[1956345] The phase order in Output now correctly matches the order in Input, including in native command and Python scripting.
[1983473] Fixed an issue to reduce the project file size when UDSM models are used, leading to general performance improvements.
[1987203] The "Cyclic accumulation and optimisation" tool for the UDCAM-S model will now fetch the correct license information.
[1993345] Resolved an issue that occurred when trying to rename the Phase ".Identification" property.
[2008067] Resolved a visualization issue with the phreatic level in Output.
[2012672] Fixed an issue that occurred when viewing certain material sets that were in an invalid state.
[2019238] Improved performance when viewing table results of embedded beams in Output.
[2026115] Fixed an issue that caused void ratio-dependent permeability to reset when the "Reset displacements to zero" option was selected.
[2030004] Resolved an issue where incorrect forces were computed for the endpoints of node-to-node anchors.
[2037734] Fixed an issue in the "PLAXIS Sensitivity and Parameter variation" tool related to non-ANSI characters in the project.
[2055038] The computed prestress value of anchors in axisymmetric models now matches the value provided in Input.
