Need a way to copy elements with the same basepoint into different drawings

 

Solution

Use tentative snap to define basepoint when copying elements, then paste as normal

 

1. Select all elements to copy (use Element Selection tool)
2. Tentative snap (click right & left mouse buttons at same time) in location that defines the basepoint. The origin of the drawing is a good location to use
3. Activate copy tool (or use CTRL+c)
4. Open other drawing, select Paste tool (CTRL+v)
5. Left click in new drawing to accept the paste. The pasted element should have the same coordinates relative to the basepoint.
