Joint Displacement using PRECEDE
Perhaps in some time, you have crossed for some issues at the moment to review the joint deflection in the structure using Precede, This is a common problem that we face when have a large number of load combinations, triggering the software crashes and doesn't respond to the change of load combination, showing only the maximum displacement values on each joint without matter the load combination selected.
To exemplify this we're working with the next model
The structure consists of:
3719 Joint(s)
5634 Member(s)
330 Member(s) with offsets
220 Member(s) with reference joints
594 Member Group(s)
247 Section(s)
916 Plate(s)
1 Triangular Plate(s)
915 Quadrilateral Plate(s)
219 Plate(s) with offsets
26 Plate Group(s)
7 Plate Stiffener(s)
169 Load Condition(s)
925 Load Combination(s)
2 View Bin(s)
as can you seen the displacement in the pedestal didn't change no matter the load condition selected
as a workaround to see the joint displacements and, force SACS to show us the joint displacement for a specific load combination, we need to work with the tool "Active load list", you can find this tool in the tab of LOAD and then click on Activate List
this will display a window in which we will need to select one-by-one load conditions to show
We can see now, that the pedestal displacement changes when we use the "Active load list" tool
