The Media Explorer lets the user index and search through potentially thousands of photos/videos which can be added to a project through any form as well as when uploading the files to a folder. Most photos and videos are not organized and maybe on employee devices, making them difficult if not impossible to find and retrieve in the event of a claim or other need.
Photos are a significant risk mitigation data source usually resulting in contractors to error on the side of more photos than less. Media indexing, brings value to users through a Media Indexing preview grid while also displaying media geo-located within our map service. Users can now search based on four vectors Geo-location, Date/Time, Content, and Context. The Media indexing service is backed by the artificial intelligence of Microsoft cognitive services computer vision and four pillars artificial intelligence machine learning model.
All photos that are attached to a Form or uploaded to Documents gets indexed.
Attach a Photo to a Form to be Indexed
Note: For this example, we will create a new form, but you can also add attachments to an existing form.
- Click on a form type, such as Issue, and click the New option.
- When the Form opens enter the required information (the ones with an asterisk in the field).
- Click the Add Attachments option to add photo files to the Issue.
- Select the photo(s) to add from your desktop location.
- Define the Map and Model locations if necessary and save the changes to the Issue.
- The attached photo(s) can be viewed in the Media Explorer tab.
- The photo will also be displayed when you click on the issue from either the Issues page or the Homepage.
Search the Index
To search the index, enter the search criteria in the field and select a date, or date range, to execute the search:
To search for a date range click the Custom option and define the range in the dialog:
Click Filter to execute the search.
Standard wildcards can be used to string words together to return multiple results:
If you click on a photo it will open and you are able to see the list of categories detected in the photo:
Click the Map View to see the locations of the photos:
The regions which include photos are shown on the map. The number of photos for the region is displayed in the blue pin on the map. When you click on the pin you are able to scroll through the photos.
