Entitlements

Introduction

Bentley Infrastructure Cloud project users need one of the following entitlements to create, access and work in a project.

Entitlements will define the maximum set of permissions a user will have when accessing any Infrastructure Cloud project

Entitlements are granted/assigned at the Enterprise Level which can be accessed through Enterprise Settings – Entitlement Management.

Bentley’s policy is to set the Default Access configured at the Entitlement/Licenses Management service for every application as Allowed, meaning all users in an Organization are entitled to use any Entitlement.

If Everyone is granted access to Bentley Infrastructure Cloud Connect and Bentley Infrastructure Cloud ProjectWise, all users who access a Bentley Infrastructure Cloud project in their organization, will consume a Bentley Infrastructure Cloud ProjectWise entitlement disregarding the role assigned at the project level

Note: This behaviour may be different if users access a project from an External Organization

Entitlements

Before you start adding participants to Bentley Infrastructure Cloud projects, the Best Practice is to configure entitlements at the Enterprise Entitlement Management.

How to configure Entitlements

There are several ways to configure Entitlements to prevent this behavior

CONNECT Service Admins and Entitlements

CONNECT Service Administrators will honor Bentley Infrastructure Cloud Connect and Bentley Infrastructure Cloud ProjectWise entitlements.

Example: If Bentley Infrastructure Cloud ProjectWise access is Deny for everyone, it will be denied for CONNECT Service Administrators too. You will need to add them as exceptions to grant them Bentley Infrastructure Cloud ProjectWise entitlement.
