Before you start adding participants to Infrastructure Cloud projects, the Best Practice is to configure Manage, Engineer and Validate entitlements, to prevent incuring excess costs.

How to configure Entitlements

There are several ways to configure Entitlements to prevent this behavior

• Set Default Access for Validate, Engineer and/or Manage to Deny. Then add the desired users as exceptions to each entitlement.
  • You may want to Deny only Validate and leave Engineer and Manage Allowed
• Use Entitlement Groups to configure Entitlements to several users at once
• Or a combination of both

Modify Validate Entitlement Default Access to Deny

1. In Infrastructure Cloud Portal, go to Enterprise Settings and select Entitlement Management

2. At the Entitlement / License Management | Subscription Information, select Global and the Subscription Type

3. Filter the applications to select Validate

4. By default, everyone is granted access to Validate entitlement.

5. Select Change Access - Deny

6. In this way, everyone is denied access to Validate

 

Create Exception to grant users access to ProjectWise Validate

7. Select Create Exception - Users

8. Type and select the user’s name to add them to the Exception List.

9. Once all users are selected, click Grant Access

 

10. You should get a list of users and their status.

11. (Optional) Perform Steps 3 to 10 for ProjectWise Engineer
    • If you don’t Change Access to Deny for Engineer, all users in the Organization (except those added to Validate) will be granted an Engineer entitlement.
12. (Optional) Perform Steps 3 to 10 for ProjectWise Manage
    • If you don’t Change Access to Deny for ProjectWise Manage, all users in the Organization (except those added to Validate or Engineer) will be granted a Manage entitlement.

CONNECT Service Admins and Entitlements

CONNECT Service Administrators will honor Manage, Engineer and Validate entitlements.

Example: If Validate access is Deny for everyone, it will be denied for CONNECT Service Administrators too. You will need to add them as exceptions to grant them Validate entitlement.
