Export to IFC

The Export to IFC dialog contains inputs for a target location, an IFC format, class mapping options, and whether to save export information to a log file.

  • The Destination Folder can be selected from any existing document connection in your Infrastructure Cloud project.
This includes the Documents folders, as well as any valid PWDI Work Area Connection locations.

  • The format Selection is a drop down of the currently supported IFC formats

  • Turn On to select a Saved View from the drop down list

  • The User Defined mapping file is used to transform or correct class definitions (like proxy classes).  This feature is from previous implementations and can be quite complex.
Detailed descriptions of this function and how to use it is explained here:

  • The Save Logs toggle writes an export log to the same location as that selected for the IFC file.

  • Note that there is currently a limit of 1.5 million elements that can be exported to an IFC model. If there are more than 1.5 million elements, a failure email will be sent to the user that submitted the IFC Export with the note that limit was exceeded. If your export contains more than this limit, use a saved view to reduce the number of elements to be exported.
