There are several specific features in PW Design Integration that is supported in ProjectWise Powered by iTwin. These are primarily:
Saved Searches Saved Searches allow a user to define the content of an iModel based on document criteria. For example, a document status pertaining to contracts, or vendors or any other such business data can be used in a Saved Search and selected as input to an iModel Connection. More detailed information is available under Saved Search Considerations |
Reference Support Reference files for a given Master file are processed in a web service that attempts to resolve the reference file pathing. This works in a similar fashion to the PW Explorer tool "Scan References and Link Sets", except that it does not have the ability to modify the source file as the desktop tool does, and it does not (currently) have a proximity search capability. |
Document Metadata PW Environment Attributes are used to define the metadata to be written to the iModel using the BI DocumentMetaData schema. This data can be viewed in PowerBI or accessed via imodelconsole.bentley.com. Support in other applications is forthcoming. More detailed information is available under PW Document Metadata |
Managed Workspace Support Managed Workspaces defined in PWDI (and associated with the iModel connection input files) will be read from PWDI and resolved to use any dms folder content it finds. It will NOT find files on user's hard disks, so any managed workspace support file that needs to be used in an iModel must exist in the PWDI managed workspace folders. Further information is available under Managed Workspace Support. |
