Create or Edit a Custom Form


The following provides a walkthrough of creating a sample Form, with links containing further information for each stages.

  1. Go to Administrator > Manage Forms. From here the template Forms that come with ProjectWise powered by iTwin can be accessed.



Note: If the Manage Form option is not visible in the Administration settings, you will need to contact your project Admin to grant you access.

  1. To Edit a Form, change the Status to Draft by clicking on Change Status
                      

  2. To create a new Form, click New.


  3. The Define section will display and require you to enter the following information:


    • Name is the Title of the form which has a max of 22 characters.
      Note: The Name can be made longer than 22 characters in the Design section.

    • Prefix is used to generate a unique identifiers for each form definition and are used as part of the ID when creating form instances.
      Note: A max of 4 uppercase alphabetic characters are allowed.

    • Type has several out of the box form types that can be used for custom forms. You can also create new custom types. The Form Types are as listed below:

      Asset Inspection

      Deficiency

      Memo

      Risk

      Civil design

      Design

      Observation

      Site Observation

      Clash

      Field data

      Other

      Submittal

      Closeout

      General Correspondence

      Punchlist

      Site Inspection

      Communication

      Issue

      Review

      Task

      Daily Log

      Meeting Minutes

      RFI

      Create New Type

      Note: The form type acts as a container for the workflow. Workflows are configured per form type. All forms of the same type will follow the same workflow.

    • Design Template allows users to use an existing Form Template to build their custom form.
       
  4. Once all the fields are populated click Save. This will create a Draft version of the form. Click Next to bring you to the Design Form page.


  5. The Form designer interface displays where you can define the Form.

    There is a Preview button   at top right, to check the form view in a mobile device or web browser.


  6. Click Next to set the Workflow.


  7. Since it does not have a workflow defined yet, click Import Workflow Template to import an existing workflow.

  8. Select the Review Workflow option and click the Import button.


  9. The Review Workflow is loaded into the form. .


  10. When you finish modifying the workflow click Close
  11. In the Forms Manager, select the Training Form then click the Change Status
  12. Select the Published option and click Save.
