A chart can be used on any Header Sheet or Project Sheet to display one or more datasets graphically. They share many similarities with Graphs but differ in several important ways.
- A chart can display any two sets of data against each other and can appear on header sheets, project sheets or in the header or footer area of a log.
- A Graph can plot depth-related data and can only be added to the depth-related area of a log.
Data can be plotted from 3 different sources - More information on each type is detailed here.
- Against data from the same table or from any parent/grandparent table, for example, moisture content against sample top, Liquid Limit against Plasticity Index, or size sizes against percentage passing.
- A fixed-point series to represent a line or set of points. This can be used to place fixed labels on a graph or to represent a fixed line.
- An expression series where the data is based on an equation - for example, an Air Voids line.
Charts are created in the Chart Manager. Once defined, a chart can be added to a Header Sheet or Project Sheet. The same chart can be added to multiple reports, making the chart object like a block in gINT.
