A Range Image is used to plot an image, aligned to a particular depth within a column. Depending on the selections made in the Properties window, the image will appear in different states.
Category Filter - The Category Filter allows for images to be filtered down so that images that are not in the correct group will not appear on the log.
Group – The Group option allows for the selection of the group that the images will come from. This to ensure that the image comes from a group that has a depth field.
Top – The Top Depth option allows for the selection of a top depth that the image will be plotted against.
Base – The Top Depth option allows for the selection of a base depth that the image will be plotted against.
Horizontal Alignment – The Horizontal Alignment options allows for the direction of the image to be plotted in to be chosen.
Vertical Alignment – The Vertical Alignment options allows for the direction of the image to be plotted in to be chosen. This option becomes superseded when the Fit To Height Option is enabled.
Fit To Height – The Fit to Height option ensures that the image will stretch from the top depth to the base depth of the image and scale the image horizontally to match that aspect ratio. This can lead the image to have white space on either side or, if the image is very wide compared to the height available, will only fit the parts of the image that fit in the column.
Allow Column Override – Will only function when used in conjunction with the Fit To Height Option. This option enforces the whole width of the image to appear, even if it appears outside of the constraints of the column space available. This can possibly lead to data in other columns being overwritten.
Further information and a guide on how to use the alignments and other options to plot an image correctly can be found here.
