This video will show how to create a “Basic” gINT Import Mapping File.
A template for a Basic Mapping File can be downloaded here.
A Basic Mapping File can be used to efficiently import Locations and Geology layering information as part of a phased migration with the Batch Import Tool.
To learn more about the concept of a "Basic" Mapping file, please see this video.
Additional Notes
- The video describes considerations for importing Geologic Descriptions depending on if you are using a Component or Non-Component model. If you are not familiar with this concept, please see the Geological Descriptions section of this article.
- It is critical to use the actual gINT database table and field names in your mapping file and not the "Caption" names. For example, the "POINT" table may be captioned as "Borehole", but you would need to use the "POINT" table name in the mapping file.
- As shown in the video, it is highly recommended to test mapping files within a project. When finalized, the mapping file can then be moved into your configuration pack for use with the Batch Import Tool. Please do not use the Batch Import Tool for testing mapping files while you are building them.
