Within the Symbol Set Manager, you can Add, Edit or Delete Symbol sets. It is accessed via the Symbol Sets Icon on the System Ribbon in Template Studio.
A Symbol set is a recurring set of symbols that can be used on grouped datasets. You must also set up a Symbol Set for any symbol that you want to use on a single data series, including a “none” option.
The first value in the set will be used if a recurring symbol set is used on a single data series.
The Symbol Set method is best described with an example.
Symbol Set 1 · Red Triangle · Blue Square · Pink Circle · Orange Cross · Black Diamond
|
Symbol Set 2 · Green Circle Outline
|
If Symbols Set 1 was used for a Lab Test chart grouped on Location ID, then each location would have a different Symbol, as shown below. If Symbol Set 2 was used then the same Symbol would be used for all locations.
Symbol Set 1 · BH1 - Red Triangle · BH2 - Blue Square · BH3 - Pink Circle · BH4 - Orange Cross · BH5 - Black Diamond · BH6 - Red Triangle · BH7 - Blue Square · BH8 - Pink Circle · BH9 - Orange Cross · BH10 - Black Diamond
|
Symbol Set 2 · BH1 - Green Circle Outline · BH2 - Green Circle Outline · BH3 - Green Circle Outline · BH4 - Green Circle Outline · BH5 - Green Circle Outline · BH6 - Green Circle Outline · BH7 - Green Circle Outline · BH8 - Green Circle Outline · BH9 - Green Circle Outline · BH10 - Green Circle Outline

Symbol Sets can be added and edited using the “Add” or “Edit” button on the Symbol Set Manager (as shown below)
Each Symbol Set has the following properties: Name, Description, and a set of symbols. These are shown in the Set Manager form below.
When adding Symbols to a set, it is vital to use the symbols that start with the word “Chart”. These symbols are colour-neutral and have their centre point at 0,0. Many symbols, such as water strikes, are designed to appear above or below the insertion point have a fixed colour and will not display correctly for a point on a chart.
If your OpenGround does not have the Chart Point Symbols, they can be downloaded from Component Downloads - OpenGround Wiki - OpenGround | gINT | Keynetix - Bentley Communities
To create a “None” Style set create a new set called “none” and do not add Symbols to it as shown below.
