Prepare user accounts and licenses
Bentley Account Administrators manage Bentley identities, Launcher download access, and OpenGround entitlements.

There are two administration responsibilities involved in onboarding. A Bentley Account Administrator manages connected Bentley accounts, software-download access, and license entitlements. An OpenGround administrator manages users and access inside an OpenGround environment. These roles may be held by different people.
Complete the Bentley account and entitlement checks before asking an OpenGround administrator to create the user. Continue to Create and manage users.
Find your Bentley Account Administrator
Sign in to Bentley CONNECT and select How are you CONNECTED? below your name to identify your organization's Bentley Account Administrator.
Confirm the Bentley account
Every OpenGround user needs a Bentley account. Add or verify the connected user in the Bentley User Management Console. Use the same email address when creating the OpenGround user so the identity and entitlements can be matched.
Allow Launcher downloads
Users who download OpenGround Launcher from the Bentley Software Download Center need the Product Delivery - Download role. Your organization can instead distribute the installer from an approved internal location.

Assign OpenGround entitlements
The Bentley Account Administrator or licensing contact assigns the appropriate OpenGround entitlement through Entitlement Management. License assignment is separate from OpenGround user creation and project access.
