A mapping file essentially allows data to be imported into OpenGround without the need of an intermediatory step such as data conversion. This file acts as a translation between the incoming data format, and its data, into a format that OpenGround can read and import into the data model.
OpenGround comes with mapping files already available for most of the import file types that are supported but users may need custom files created to allow them to import data that is not in a standard format or to support data that is not a standard table or field.
In the past, these data mapping files have been written by the Professional Services team but this documentation has been written to help support advanced users who wish to create these themselves. We would still recommend contacting a member of the support team before starting this process for guidance before attempting this process, especially if you have any questions. The Professional Services team can also still offer a service to create these files for you if required.
At the time of writing, the following data formats can be imported into OpenGround with the use of a mapping file:
