Before the geotechnical profile can be produced an alignment must first be created, following the steps below:
- Draw a polyline along the route of the alignment/section
- Select the Create Alignment from Objects command from the Home / Alignment ribbon or type CREATEALIGNMENTENTITIES on the command line
- Select the polyline created above
- Press Enter or click Reverse to alter the direction of the alignment.
- The Create Alignment from Objects dialog box is displayed
- The default options can be left, however for ease of use it is recommended:
- For Alignment Label Set to "No labels", the alignment is easier to select and manipulate without labels
- Press OK to create the alignment
