OpenGround Users

When migrating a database from HoleBASE to OpenGround, it is possible to either migrate all of the existing users (except for the standard HoleBASE Administrator account) and make them available or the users can be wiped and started again.

If users are being migrated, it is imperative that the users email addresses match those stored within Bentley Connect (and assigned a licence if applicable). If a user has access to a licence, and a matching account within OpenGround, then when logging into the OpenGround launcher, they will see the Cloud name listed at the top of the launcher and be able to login.

Please also note, that users will be migrated with their existing HoleBASE roles and security access. We therefore, strongly recommend reviewing users access either before the database backup is taken or before users are informed that the cloud is available.

The HoleBASE Administrator account that is created in all HoleBASE databases is removed during the migration process due to security reasons. This is because there is no defined email account with this account by default and isn't linked to a named user within Bentley Connect.

A full explanation of how to add users and set them up can be found on the OpenGround Admin Users page.
