How to add a SHP file

Question

How to add a SHP file to OpenGround?

Answer

A SHP file can be added using OpenGround Professional using the Import Dataset's function.

Explanation

A SHP file is a file that can show different layers on the Map within OpenGround Professional.

If the layer is only required in a certain project, you can add the SHP file inside that project only.

If you would like the SHP file to show on all projects this would be added at System level through the Configuration Pack.

Click on Import Dataset:

In the Import Dataset box, select ESRI SHP (Shape File)

Browse to the location of the saved file

Chose the Coordinate Systems and then give the file a name, which will appear in the Mapping legend

Next select Import

Next open the Manage Datasets on the ribbon, select the dataset you have just imported, then Edit, tick the option for Include on Map

Open the Map in Open Ground Cloud Professional and expand the Imported datasets, making sure the box is ticked for the added dataset, you can now see this on the map at the level you have selected
