Report 3 – Project Summary


 

The third report is a template to get you started with creating your own templates. This report is pre-set with several commonly used tables connected and ready to expand on as needed. 

To run the Summary Report follow the steps below: 

  1. Double click on the Summary Example.pbit file to open the template in Power BI.
  2. Enter your Cloud Parameters and Project ID in the form below (see can be found using the Cloud Parameters report above). In this report, ProjectID is optional. If left blank it will query an entire cloud which may either timeout or exceed the return row limit of large clouds.  

  3. Once connected the data in the report will update and be displayed as shown below. 

This report connects data using a normally hidden Globally Unique ID (GUID) that OpenGround relies on in the background to reduce conflicts between same-named entities (multiple BH-01 locations in each project) for example.  This is then connected to the parent table that lives above (Generally Location Details or Sample Information tables). It is important to include that parent level ID in the query to link backwords to the parent table.

For example, the query for StratumDetails, includes the line [LocationDetails.Id] in the query to connect back to the correct Location GUID.
