Overview

This Technical Bulletin describes an interim solution for circumventing a known but unresolved issue in AutoPLANT P&ID when integrated with ProjectWise in versions 8.6 and 8.9.

Opening an existing P&ID through ProjectWise results in the P&ID New Document dialog.

If when creating a P&ID through ProjectWise Explorer, the user right-clicks on the existing document and selects OPEN and is presented with the P&ID New Document dialog instead of the drawing, please use the following steps to correct the problem:

  1. Log everyone out of the project to ensure exclusive rights to the database.
  2. From the root folder of the project, open AT_PROJ.DBF. Use Microsoft Access if FoxPro is not available.
  3. Delete any blank or incomplete records or records with duplicate proj_id values in the table.
  4. Save and Exit.
