Problem
Only 500 results appear in the results pane even when the the setting for the number of search results exceeds that value.
Solution
Yes, this new limit was introduced in 15.3.2 HF298 and is by design.
The problem is that the web server has to hold the information in memory while generating the result page - multiple users executing searches with many hits was consuming the memory on their web server and making it unstable.
Please note that The hits that the search makes are available, but you have to page through them.
