Overview

With AutoPLANT Plant design (PDW) spec data, conversion to OpenPlant Modeler spec, EC_CLASS_NAME field information missing. User was trying to use ‘Upgrade to OPM’ option but fails to populate the data each time.

Problem Description

During AutoPLANT PDW spec conversion, EC_CLASS_NAME field fails to populate the data. It was found that few fields MODULE_NAME & CLASS_NAME contains additional spaces which need to be taken care while converting specs. See image below.

To solve this issue, user either need to get the correct data with no spaces or manually trim the extra spaces present in each cell. Below steps illustrates removing the data and converting the specs successfully.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Open user’s PDW spec Mdb file with Microsoft access.

  2. Select table ‘PIPE’.

  3. Go to Design view template. See below:

  4. Rename existing fields and create another field with same name.

  5. Save Fields and switch back to Grid view.

  6. Copy data from existing to newly created column.

  7. Delete the old ones, after verifying it properly.

  8. Repeat Step: 2 to Step: 7 for other component table available in spec.

  9. Launch Specification generator. Select project unit.

  10. Convert the spec and verify results.

NOTE- If there is still an issue? User could create a Service Request and contact Bentley Technical Support group along with necessary data to get in depth analysis and for possible solution or workarounds or for filing Defects/Enhancements.
